Farming and ranching plays a major part in the economy of the area. The irrigated valleys are devoted to the production of Alfalfa and Western Wheatgrass hay (Blue Joint) to feed the cattle through out the winter. In the hills you will find the cattle grazing, with the wheat fields waving nearby.

The industry is dependent upon many things such as the weather and whims of the market. But those who make their living from the land, endure all of challenges thrown at them, in order to care for the land that they love.
